Why you should sign up now – puppy classes in Harrogate.

So far today I have had 5 enquiries about puppy classes so I thought it was about time I reintroduced myself and while I was at it I’ve updated the list of the frequently asked questions to save my typing fingers :0) – for those of you who have followed me for a while feel free to scroll (or you could pop a comment in the box about why you enjoyed the puppy classes :0)

For those of you who don’t know me yet :

Hi, I’m Kate! I’m a qualified dog trainer with an MSc in Behaviour, and I’ve been running puppy classes for over eight years. I’ve helped hundreds of puppies start their training journey, and I absolutely love it – and I think the puppies enjoy it too! 🐶

I originally trained as a clicker trainer with the Karen Pryor Academy and then went to complete my MSc in applied animal behaviour and welfare, the icing on the cake was becoming a Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourist.

If you’d like, you can peek at our reviews on Google or Trustpilot to see what other puppy parents have to say.

For those of you who have just got new puppies – congratulations, I suspect you have new clothes on your Christmas wish list from all the land sharking :0) – I’ve put together a list of the most common questions that come through on email and messenger about puppy classes and socialisation.

🐾 – When should I book my puppy in for classes ?

The sooner the better, puppy classes tend to book up really quickly, at the time of writing the next class with a space starts on Feb 26th (to put it in context I have 3 new classes starting before then which have all been full for around a month :0).

🐾 – What age can my puppy be ?

Puppies are welcome at class from when they have finished their vaccinations (around 12 weeks) upto 22 weeks at the start of the course (for smaller breeds we can even start them a little later).

🐾 – Why should I choose your classes Kate ?

Choosing the right class for your puppy is so important, those early lessons and interactions can shape your puppy for years to come. I am a qualified trainer and hold an Msc in behaviour, I have also done alot of puppy specific training (I have been called ‘puppy google’ in the past 🤣).

All the training is fun (as it should be) and positive reinforcement based (as all training should be :0), in other words we ‘pay’ your puppy for a job well done.

🐾 – What do we cover in class ?

Thats a long list so I’ll pop a link to the website instead as it has all the information:

🐾 – How much does it cost ?

The full 6 week course is £110. This includes 6 x 45 min classes plus lots of homework to keep you busy between classes :0)

🐾 – Can I come along to a class before I commit ?

Yes, this is something I recommend, choosing the right puppy class for your puppy is so important, you are very welcome to come along to class to watch before you decide.

🐾 – Do you offer 1-2-1 training as well ?

I do indeed, plus puppy packages for those who feel they need a little more support. 1-2-1’s can be in person or over zoom and cost £60.

🐾 – How do I book ?

You can drop me a message and I’ll send the link over, or you can pop onto the website and see what dates are available – https://app.acuityscheduling.com/schedule/445f5a50/?categories[]=Puppy%20classes
