🐶 Helping your dog feel safe and confident when left home alone
If you’ve found your way here, chances are you’re living with a dog or puppy who finds it difficult – or even impossible – to be left home alone. Maybe you’ve had complaints from neighbours about barking or howling. Or perhaps you’ve come home to destruction, toileting accidents, or a dog in a state of distress.
You’re not alone and more importantly, your dog isn’t being difficult on purpose.
💔 What is Separation Anxiety in Dogs?
Separation anxiety (or separation-related disorder) is a serious but often misunderstood behavioural issue in dogs. Well-meaning advice like “just leave them they’ll get over it” or “put them in a crate and let them cry it out” is not only ineffective but can make things worse. Dogs with separation anxiety are not being “naughty” they are genuinely struggling emotionally.
How I Can Help
As a qualified and experienced certificated clinical animal behaviourist, I offer structured separation anxiety support that is compassionate, science-based, and tailored to your individual dog. But I won’t sugarcoat it, this kind of training takes time, commitment, and consistency. The biggest commitment? Your dog must not be left alone (outside of structured training sessions) during the programme. That might sound daunting, but support from friends, family, day care, or dog walkers can make it manageable—and it’s key to long-term success.
Why My Support Is Different
Many owners attempting separation anxiety training struggle to recognise the subtle signs of stress in their dog. That’s where I come in. I don’t just give you a plan and leave you to it, I work alongside you in real time, helping you interpret your dog’s behaviour and adjust the plan accordingly. This close level of support helps you:
- Avoid setbacks
- Stay motivated
- Make faster progress
